The Lucknow Museum of Heritage and Art, completed in Hussainabad, will showcase the confluence of Awadh culture.
The Lucknow Development Authority has constructed this museum on an area of approximately 4,973 square meters. It will be opened to the public after its inauguration on March 1next .

LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar inspected the newly constructed museum on Wednesday. During the inspection, he reviewed the museum’s structure, exhibition galleries, and tourist facilities, and provided necessary guidance to officials.
The museum was constructed at a cost of ₹41.43 crore. This will be the first iconic building in the state to feature a 45-meter-long cantilever structure without the support of any columns or pillars. The museum’s attractive design gives it a distinct identity.
The museum presents the historical, literary, and cultural heritage of Awadh through modern technology. Various galleries have been developed within the museum, namely “Mool Dhara,” “Hunar Ka Safar,” “Haasthilp,” “Sanjhi Aastha,” “Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb,” “Kargilkari,” “Mehfil-e-Awadh,” “Nritya Kala,” “Natyashala,” “Sooch Evam Samvad,” and “Zaika-e-Awadh.”
These galleries will showcase Awadh culture in a vibrant way. A VR gaming arena has also been built within the museum, providing visitors with a new experience connecting with history.
LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar stated that this museum has been constructed in accordance with the government’s intention to promote tourism in the city. It will preserve Lucknow’s rich heritage, arts, and crafts traditions while connecting them with the new generation. Besides, it will play an important role in strengthening the regional economy by encouraging local artisans and handicrafts.
